Whitney

Physical Therapist

I have always had a love for movement that makes you feel good. I have been a Stott Mat Pilates instructor since 2009, teaching classes at a variety of studios along the way.

I continued my love for the healing properties of movement and graduated with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan Flint in 2014. In 2023 I added to my Pilates background and became a certified STOTT PILATES® Reformer instructor.

Outside of being a physical therapist and Pilates instructor, I am married and have three little boys and a dog.

I hope to see you in class one day - whether you are brand new to Pilates or a seasoned regular - let’s get moving together, listen to some music and maybe tell a couple jokes. You’ll leave feeling longer, stronger and most importantly happier!

Danielle

Physical Therapist

Danielle graduated from Oakland University in 2005 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and in 2010 with her post-graduate certification in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT).

Her physical therapy career has always been in the outpatient orthopedic setting where she has worked with patients of all ages, conditions, and skill levels. However, her passion is in treating individuals with total joint replacements to permit them to return to their prior level of function and working with injured and non-injured athletes to permit them to safely return to and compete in their sport.

She began implementing Pilates into her patients’ treatment programs in 2016, but it wasn’t until she herself discovered Pilates to be such a crucial and integral part of her recovery following Breast Cancer treatment and surgery. During her recovery, she decided to enroll in the Intensive instructor trainer program. After nearly 2.5 years, in 2021, she earned her Level 1 STOTT PILATES® certification in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels.

What she loves about Pilates is the ability to apply the Pilates principles to anyone regardless of their age or skill level, easily and readily integrate the exercises into their treatment programs, and watch her patients/clients achieve their goals and more, allowing them to stay as active as possible.

But Pilates isn’t just about physical conditioning; it is also about a mind-body connection and awareness. When she personally leaves a pilates session she not only feels physically rejuvenated, but also mentally and emotionally recharged. She is indebted to all those who assisted and continue to assist her in her recovery and she hopes to pay it forward to those she works with by improving their physical, mental, and emotional well-being with each session.

Holly

Pilates came to Holly through a recommendation during a gym yoga class. Holly was experiencing body & joint pain that was quite unusual for her since she’s always led an active lifestyle — including over 30 years as a long distance runner with the completion of several marathons.

She followed the advice & attended her first Pilates class but didn’t feel like it was for her. However, her awesome husband kept pressing her to try another studio & try it again. Thankfully, she found Core Connection. It was a completely different experience for her, unlike any other workout, & it blew her mind! The equipment & exercises were unique, challenging, focused, & fun compared to any prior workouts. After a few classes, the pain she was experiencing became less & less. After each class, her body felt stronger, healthier, & leaner & soon realized that for her, any adjusting, stretching, & strengthening her body needed was (& is!) found through the mind-body connection that Pilates affords through a full-body workout every. single. time.

After 1-month of training, again, her husband saw something in Holly before she did. He knew that not only did his wife feel better, but with her heart to help others, Pilates provided an extraordinary opportunity for both to converge. With the encouragement of her husband (& maybe some pushing…) & mentoring of Erin, Holly began her Balanced Body Instructor Training in March 2023.

This journey has rightly taken her understanding, awe, & love of Pilates & the human body - so clearly divinely created - to the next level! It is her joy & privilege to help others realize their unique plan & purpose for their lives as they pursue becoming healthier & stronger within the practice & special community of Pilates & the Core Connection Studio!

Jamie

Jamie’s love for movement began as a little girl when she begged her mom to put her in dance class. This led to a scholarship to a professional dance school in Los Angeles and a professional dance career in NYC.

Jamie was first introduced to Pilates through her dance training. One of the things that Jamie loves about Pilates is the similarities between ballet and Pilates.

Jamie is classically trained and certified in mat through Power Pilates and is planning on continuing her Pilates education through their comprehensive program in the fall. She hopes to be able to pass on her love for movement by helping others learn the benefits of Pilates.

When not teaching Pilates and dance, Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband, their four sons, and their beloved golden doodle, Sammy.
